tea.
Following in the footsteps of one of the world's most popular drinks or how to brew the rightMost people associate black tea with Great Britain, which is famous for its "tea at five." However, its roots go back to China, where tea has been making history for more than four thousand years. But that would be talking about green tea; we'll skip to black tea and remind ourselves that it's much younger. Historical sources mention it as far back as the 17th century and you can find out more about its origins with these black teas.

Black Tea Preparation Guide
- Do you know what you're craving?
It goes without saying that there is no black tea like black tea. Real foodies know full well what we're talking about. If the taste and aroma is really meant to be a treat to the soul, pay enough attention to your tea selection. Great varieties not only come from China, India or Sri Lanka, but you can also look for them in other countries of origin. For example, try tea from Georgia or Kenya.
- Water temperature matters
So you have the tea, reach into the cupboard for the right mug and put the water on to boil. Black tea should be poured over water at 93-100°C. The lower temperature is especially recommended when making Darjeeling tea.
- Black tea steeping time
If you are preparing tea in a 250ml mug, put 1 teaspoon of tea leaves in a strainer. As soon as you pour hot water over them, time starts to run out for you (or your tea). 3-5 minutes is enough to prepare the drink. If you let the leaves steep longer, the tea will be too bitter.
- Equipment
You can of course also make black tea in a teapot or French press, it's up to you which you prefer. You will then increase the dose of tea leaves in proportion to the volume of the container.
- Something extra
The hot drink can be flavored with sugar, honey, lemon juice, or a little milk or a pinch of some spices (cinnamon or cardamom is suitable).
- Brew and enjoy
With your cup of tea ready, sit back, smell the scent, close your eyes and let the aroma take effect. Even on the most hectic of days, it's good to allow yourself a few moments to enjoy the tea in peace.
