Italian classic - Bialetti moka pot
It was the Italian Alfonso Bialetti who made the world's first moka pot in 1933. The novelty caught on very quickly, as it allowed people to indulge in coffee at home very similar to espresso from a coffee shop, but at a fraction of the price and effort. To distinguish them from the copy Bialetti teapots, each one bears the "man with a moustache" or the likeness of Alfonso Bialetti.
The Bialetti brand is still in operation today, further developing Mr. Bialetti's legacy through the production of very high quality moka kettles.

What types of coffee pots does Bialetti make?
Bialetti is of course moving with the times, so in their range you will find not only classic models, but also kettles using modern technology. The easiest way to categorize the kettles is by heating type.
- Classic electric or gas stove moka kettle - the oldest form of kettle, suitable for electric and gas stoves. This type of teapot is produced by Bialetti in the original design of the silver octagon. In most cases, the teapot is accompanied by a depiction of Mr. Bialetti, otherwise known as "the man with the moustache".
- Induction Moka Kettle - a classic moka kettle would not work on an induction hob, so it makes sense that Bialetti produces a version directly adapted to this type of heating. When buying an induction moka kettle, it is important to make sure that the diameter of the bottom of the kettle matches the diameter of the hob.
- Electric moka kettles - this type of kettle is equipped with its own heating source, so there is no need to put it on the hob. It is particularly suitable for travel or for kitchens with smaller hobs.
What size should I choose?
You can choose the right size according to the amount of coffee you usually prepare. The volume of the teapots is given in 50 ml cups. Depending on the amount the pot can handle, you can easily choose the appropriate model. For more advice on choosing the right moka pot, click here.
