The Hario Column hand grinder will delight anyone who likes the classic design of hand grinders and at the same time the luxurious and precise design that we are used to in all products of the Japanese company Hario.

The Hario Column is made in a combination of wood and metal and thanks to this you can be sure that the grinder will serve you for many years. Thanks to these materials, the grinder will also become a decoration of both modern and traditional kitchens.

The hopper of the grinder is quite practical and can be closed, so that coffee beans don't bounce all over the place during grinding.

The ground coffee drops into the bottom of the grinder's wooden body, which holds up to 40g of ground coffee.

Height: 24 cm

Great Quality Grinder With No Plastic Parts!

We have been looking for a coffee grinder where the coffee never comes into contact with plastic or synthetic materials of any kind. This a very difficult proposition since almost every coffee grinder uses plastic somewhere in the processing. We were in Prague an looked up coffee grinders and found the Gourmet Kava retail store was in the city. We went to their location and were able to examine the different grinders in person and were shocked at how many traditional designs have plastic parts inside them. This Hario unit stood out since the coffee only ever touches steel, ceramic and wood. The top does have a silicon gasket air seal which never comes into contact with the actual coffee. We purchased this unit and brought it back home to Texas. It has exceeded our expectations for quality and performance. I am glad we followed Gourmet Kava's advice and tried a manual grinder instead of an electric one. There is a certain "zen" in manually grinding one's coffee in the cool bright morning. The tactile feel of the coffee being processed is very satisfying. The grind can easily be adjusted with the top axle threads to yield from super fine (espresso) to coarse (pour over) grinds. We use this unit with a Chemex pour over flask and found a grind setting of medium was about right. We are very pleased with both Hario and Gourmet Kava.
