Black tea and its history

In many countries, it is one of the most popular drinks, and few people are aware that black tea has a better quality compared to green tea or oolong with a significantly shorter history.

According to some sources, he was born purely by chance, in the middle of the 17th century in China. As part of their move, the army is said to have camped near a facility used for drying tea. An unplanned military visit caused the tea leaves to stay in the sun longer, they turned dark red, and the drink obtained from them also retained its dark color. Moreover, it impressed with its taste.

Dutch and British merchants soon began to call it black tea. Today, no one is interested in whether this particular story is behind the origin of black tea, or - as other sources state - the Chinese simply started tea leaves ferment to extend their life.

In any case, in the 18th century, black tea became the drink of the aristocracy and a sought-after commercial commodity. Today, it is a drink of all social classes, and experts spare no effort in enumerating a whole range of benefits for our health.

Hand-picked teas from small productions

In the menu you will find black tea from Georgia sought after for its honey taste, Rhino tea from Kenya, Africa, which will enchant you with the flavors of caramel and nuts, and of course there is also bergamot scented Earl Grey.

Who is looking for a tea-themed gift should not miss the gift Cotecho tea set – a selection of organic Ceylon black and green teas, supplemented with mint and chamomile tea.

Then all that remains is to choose whether to use a frenchpress or a teapot to prepare the tea. To preserve the quality of the tea, ideally store it in a vacuum can. The care you give to your chosen tea, whether it concerns storage or preparation, will be returned to you many times over in the form of a drink that harmonizes body and soul.

The active substance is caffeine, i.e. in the case of tea it is listed under the name tein. Black tea stimulates the nervous system, removes fatigue and insomnia. It also improves overall concentration, stimulates metabolism, stimulates the lungs and heart and contributes to brain oxygenation.
